Fresh Homemade Food in Santa Barbara's Theater Art District
In the heart of the Theater Art District of Downtown Santa Barbara, California lies a "tried" and "true" restaurant where the locals love to dine. Jane is located in the historical Spanish building two doors down from the Arlington Theater (which hosts the annual Santa Barbara Film Festival) on the bustling main drag of State Street.
From an intimate balcony table overlooking the purple-hued mountains of Santa Barbara to our large communal table shared by all, there's something at Jane for everyone. With a floor to ceiling fireplace the atmosphere is warm and cozy. Each mouthful you can taste the authentic homemade flavors of California Cuisine and each dish is made with love from scratch. With over 30 years of quality consistent service in Santa Barbara, it's hard to beat the hospitality, food and atmosphere you'll find at Jane.
Family-friendly with children's menu & high chairs available
Jane is a family owned and operated business. The restaurant is named after my grandmother, Jane Moody, who loved to travel the world and was always entertaining. She encouraged my parents, Mark & Margaret Huston to open their first restaurant, the Montecito Cafe, and so we thought it suiting to pay tribute to our beloved matriarch by naming this restaurant after her.
Photos of Jane adorn the restaurant and depict her years living abroad as well as many of her other adventures. For anyone that knew her she was one of a kind. Jane loved all people and welcomed everyone into her home.
We hope that this restaurant will live up to her warm persona and that you will be able to enjoy our family recipes and friendly service.
I look forward to seeing you soon,
"A dining establishment (of 3 generations) that brings a bit of one family's exuberate past deliciously into the present."
