Jane at Home: “Shaking things up”

Home Mixologist at Jane

This month we are highlighting our seasonal craft cocktails at Jane at the Marketplace in Goleta. We are using fresh herbs from our garden to pack in the essence of spring flavors that are right here in our backyard in beautiful Santa Barbara.

A few clippings of fresh Rosemary, Basil, Lavender or Mint quickly elevate your cocktail with fresh aromatics, flavor & make a gorgeous presentation. Come in now and sip on some of our favorite spring cocktails such as “The Garden Party” (Fresh Blood Orange Juice, Homemade Rosemary Simple Syrup, Vodka, Soda Water and Fresh Rosemary Sprig served over Ice), “The Minted Cucumber Martini,” “Lavender Lemonade” or the “Black Widow” ( recipe below) and then give them a go at home.

Black Widow:

2 Fresh Ripe Organic Blackberries

3 Fresh Organic Basil Leaves

1/2 oz Agave Syrup

1.5 oz Patron Silver Tequila

Muddle Blackberries, Basil Leaves & Agave Syrup. Shake over ice with Tequila. Strain. Serve over ice in a Rocks Glass. Garnish with Fresh Basil Leaf & Ripe Blackberry

Jane at the Marketplace has just launched our new Happy Hour, so for more inspiration on being a home mixologist, come visit Jane and try our amazing cocktails!

I read your post about the treatment of hyperhidrosis and it helped explain why some people sweat more than usual and how it can affect daily life in simple terms. Last semester when I was almost done with a big law essay I felt overwhelmed and had to  late at night because Jiu Jitsu Gi I needed fresh eyes on my formatting and grammar. It made me realize asking for help can really lift a weight off your shoulders.

I read the blog post about being a home mixologist and how simple fresh herbs and easy recipes can make fun cocktails right in your own kitchen, which sounds fun and doable for spring. I remember once I was so swamped with school that I asked someone to take my online statistics class just so I could finish a big project on time and still relax later. That mix of pressure and chill makes me think that learning new skills at home can be both creative and a good break.
